    hi mate,

un protected batteries do pose a slight risk of exploding if they become over heated, shorted etc etc and there has been one isolated case of someone receiving a quite nasty injury when using them.
protected batteries will detect those problems and then prevent them from exploding.

how much you get out of a bottle of juice will vary greatly from one person to the next.........but i would say that on average a 30ml bottle of e-liquid is around 200 cigarettes.

    cheers,

    scott

Scott, I have two questions, both totally unrelated. I am fairly new to vaping, and know nothing.

    1. What Is the big thing against unprotected batteries? I hear all the time that people area afraid of them, but why? What are the risks?

    2. How much vaping would you say you get out of a typical bottle of juice?

I am in the market for something other than my current, traditional style e cig. I am really liking the idea of the Adaptever, great review. Thanks.

Great review as always scott! This may be my next purchase after my tornado arrives. Only thing that puts me off is the switch on the bottom of the unit. Did you find it uncomfortable or a hinderance to use?

I have been vaping almost a year now and have a few different mods. From the high voltage ones I have tried myself I would suggest the silver bullet or detonator. In my personal opinion 6v is a bit much, definately overkill if you or your friend are just starting out. As far as high voltage goes I wont go past 5v. Even my SB I only use at 3.7v Hope this helped you.

    hi mate,

the adaptever is a great 6v mod and i can highly recommend it. but also take a look at my prodigy review as that is also a very good model.

and yes, the batteries are rechargeable and will easily last for over a full days worth of vaping :)

    cheers,

    scott

I would like to get something like this for a friend of mine, but being new to all this I get confused.

Which is the best 6V you have tried?

Is there anything higher than 6V?

Are there rechargeable batteries for these?

How long do the batteries last before having to replace them?

Great reveiw as always. I've learned more from your reviews than anywhere else.

Visual, hands on demonstrations are always better for me and I have come to trust your opinions.

    Thanks

I, err, need to get the adpatever's on the US site. It's an oversight in webdesign :P

    hi mate,

you have made an excellant point and i will include this in future reviews.

my train of thought has been "you push it, it works"..........but that has been mainly focusing on manual batteries on regular type e-cigs (which are pretty much all the same!)
but i agree that the buttons on the "mod" type e-cigs are very different and should be rated accordingly.

thank you for yout input, its much appreciated :)

    cheers,

    scott

I think you should score the performance of the button. Some buttons are better than others. For example it might have a lot of play, or how easily it can be accidentally pushed when it is in your pocket. Maybe it sticks or has a delay or needs to be pushed really hard or is too sensitive to the touch. I think these are worthy of a rating. Just a thought, great review as usual. Vape on Vapers!!

    hi mate,

the drip sleeve is an optional thing that acts like a collar around the atty connection that will catch any e-liquid if you flood the atty.
but i found it wasnt really necessary as the atty area has a rubber gasket that gives a nice tight seal anyway.

ive not used the drip sleeve even once and ive had zero instances of juice leaking and causing problems :)

    cheers,

    scott

    hi mate,

i believe the US site has only just re opened after many months out of action and they will be selling hardware again soon once they get the stock in.

The U.S. site does not offer anything but e-liquids. Any idea if this is an oversight in website design, or is it not possible to order the Adaptever in the U.S.?

Yeah, the adaptever page IS confusing, shoot the designer.

Note:designer is in the process of changing the options.

    hi mate,

yeah the middle length body is definitely the best choice as it will fit a single 14500 900 mAh 3.7v Trustfire battery (for 3v vaping) or 2 x TR15270 600 mAh 3v Ultrafire batteries (for 6v vaping).

the TR15270 batts are sold as "CR2" on the website though.

    cheers,

    scott

Great video as always. Thanks for doing that options thing at the start. Looking at the shop at LF it's a ltitle confusing as to what one I should get etc.

Think it will be a while before I pick up one of these as I've just purchased an SD MkII but this was one of the units I was considering. It was just a matter of price and timing at the time when I ordered it.

I think this is a great idea, having so many option but think the medium size is definitely the one I would go for.
