Thats correct you need a 10440 battery charger, but the spade comes with it's own charger, no need to purchase separately :)

Do you need to get a new charger for this? The 510 chargers won't fit these will they?

@notmyhomies Well longer battery life. The normal 510 battery runs at 180mah, the Mega battery runs 280mah, and The Spade runs at 360mah. So your getting another 100mah than the mega battery :)

Really good review. The differences you mentioned (lighter weight, black) are important because now that I know what it is, I would probably choose this over the VP1 (which also looks great). A couple of 510 adapters and you're good to go. I looks like a great size, too. --Prof Daffy

if the battery life is about twice as long as the standard 501, what's the advantage of this over a chinese mega battery?

Well it depends, if you are mostly at home, then the passthrough is the way to go hands down without question. It creates LOTS of vapor. The Spade is great for on the go, but if you already have an on the go unit, then you may want to hold off :)

Okay, lets say I'm broke (mainly because I am) and could only really afford one of these (the spade or the PT) which would you say I should go for? I'm a heavy vaporer (think I just created a new word, call the dictionary people).

Looks like a nice unit. Anything that increases battery life is a good thing.
